About MAD HUGS
MAD HUGS brand is owned by the MAD HUGS Foundation. We serve victims of domestic violence, abuse, racism, and people of cultural minorities. MAD HUGS stands for “Make A Difference, Help Us Generate Smiles. 100% of profits go to the MAD HUGS Foundation.
Our slogan is “Get Your Hug On”… but it’s more than a slogan – it’s a mindset of giving and making a difference wherever you can, a lifestyle of making sure people in your life know every day “You matter, I matter, we matter”. It's a way of being that embodies love, support, possibility and joy in such a way that lifts others up to their best selves and the masterpiece of who they are.
Our vision: A world where people know they matter and feel loved, where possibility and support generate smiles, and people make a positive difference for each other every day.
From Surviving to Thriving: Victims exiting abusive situations are often faced with financial devastation. MAD HUGS Foundation provides monetary resources and education advancement opportunities to empower survivors wanting to rebuild their lives and secure independence for their families and find financial success with the following programs.
- Scholarships
- Small business start-up grants
- Business Mentoring
- Home ownership down payment grants
Each grant and scholarship program is designed with a "give back" system where the recipient can make a difference for someone else.
The Foundation is our way to give back and make a difference. Like countless others, our family experienced domestic violence, abuse, poverty and prejudice. We were able to move past our situation and get to a place of thriving and smiling.
Through our experience, we realized that, though there were several charities providing services to those exiting traumatic conditions, there was very little continued support for those once they were stabilized and past the “emergency” phase of leaving .

How much of my donation directy supports the grant and scholarship programs? 100% of monetary donations and website purchases go directly to support our grant and scholarship programs. We ensure that when you give, you make a difference in people's lives.
Get involved. We are always looking for mentors to volunteer. If you would like to be matched with a mentee to provide support as they start their business or go through school, please email rachel@madhugsfoundation.org We are working on being able to accept monetary donations through this website and will add this option soon. Meanwhile all donations will be gratefully handled one by one. You can also support us by purchasing "GET YOUR HUG ON" merchandise from our online shop.
